Purpose of this Site and Blog

This blog explores quaternion history, culture, and technology in math, music, and cognition. (See my first blog entry.)

BACKGROUND:
Quaternions themselves are a 175-year-old system of geometric/algebraic/vectorial math.
Quaternions became celebrated, then declined as modern vectors emerged, then returned recently because of superior attributes in high-tech fields such as aerospace, computer graphics, and signal-image processing.
All of these matters and their history are presented in the documents in the Drafts menu.

CURRENT EFFORTS TO BUILD MODELS USING QUATERNIONS, AND TO SEARCH FOR NEW SOURCES OF IDEAS:

4D aspects of music and general cognition will be important because quaternions are a 4D math space.
